Caras Alegres

Where kids can be kids.

About us

Caras Alegres was founded in 2004, thanks to the work of two volunteers (Judith Bank & Marcel Van Der Geest) They came to Canton Xeul to do Volunteer and they noticed that here in the community there were a lot of things to do for children. So they started a little daycare for children where they were able to start taking care of them and offering a safe place.

Since then we have been developing a series of an important project that has had an impact on the community, especially in children´s lives.

Afternoon Program

The purpose of this project has always been based on stimulating the cognitive areas of children through a series of recreational activities. While we do this, we focus on the development of creative skills, as well as teamwork.

Scholarships

School dropout is a problem that affects more children every year. Through the APARES scholarships, we want to give the opportunity to the children of the community to continue fighting for their dreams.
